On 28 October, the all-Russian student patriotic event “Znai Nashikh” was held in the gym of the main building of VSU. The event was dedicated to the National Unity Day. The special guest was Daniil Melnikov, a forward of the regional hockey club Buran. Together with the athlete, the students’ sport club “Khitschnye Bobry” (Rapacious Beavers) held a “Khitschnaya zaryadka”.
“I would like to thank our guest, a great hockey player, and our fellow “beavers” for the excellent organisation and a great time! Although the training session took place in the morning, it was not a problem to get up and go to the university, do some sports exercises, and get a charge of energy and positive emotions for the whole day!” said Ekaterina Burdovitsyna, a second year student from the Faculty of Chemistry.
“It was a great event, promoting a healthy lifestyle among students. It was interesting to meet a Buran hockey player in person after watching him play from the stands. I hope that such events will be held more often, with new guests and new venues,” said Ekaterina Gudkova, a third year student of the Faculty of Applied Mathematics, Informatics, and Mechanics.
The project is aimed at promoting a healthy lifestyle among young people, so Khitschnye Bobry paid special attention to this event. In addition to its focus on a healthy lifestyle, the project also promotes modern achievements, and highlights the heroes of Russia. The event was supported by the Department of State Youth Policy and Educational Activities of the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia together with the Association of Student Patriotic Clubs “I am proud”.
