On November 16, representatives of the Zernyshko volunteer club of the Faculty of Geology visited children from the Babyakovo rehabilitation centre. The activists, together with the children, planted potted flowers, launched fireworks made of colourful balloons and shared their impressions of studying at the university.
Volunteers are planning the next trip to children, during which they will create drawings for the annual Dream from Drawing campaign. The meeting should take place on New Year's Eve. According to Maria Khovanskaya, Associate Professor of the Department of Ecological Geology, children are waiting for the volunteers, with whom they have already made friends.
“We had a friendly and warm meeting. Before that, I had already been here several times and now I felt as if I had returned home. We tried to make friends with all children, to find out their innermost dreams, to share warmth with them. Compared with previous trips, the children were more open to us, ran up and hugged us, running out into the corridor to meet us. Their happy eyes, the joyful smiles of children and "Thank yous", these are the best forms of gratitude that can be shown to the Zernyshko movement for good causes!” said Oksana Kobzeva, a first year master’s degree student from VSU Faculty of Geology.
