On November 18, the students and staff of the International Education Institute of VSU, at the invitation of the administration of the Khokhol lyceum, visited the Khokhol district. During a tour of the lyceum, foreign students learnt about the organisation of the educational process and its innovations.
Representatives of the International Education Institute took part in a concert organised by the lyceum and a friendly football match between the teachers of the lyceum and students of the International Education Institute. The tour ended with a visit to the rural museum "Masters", where foreign guests learnt about the life history of the peasants of the Khokhol district. In the museum, which is stylized as a carved tower, there are authentic household and labour items, a Russian stove is heated, and works by local craftsmen are displayed in exhibition halls.
“There was a good tradition in Soviet schools: in almost every school there was a so-called IFC, an international friendship club. The participants studied the life of foreign countries, corresponded with their peers, and arranged evenings of international friendship. Delegations from different countries often came. Today, this tradition has become obsolete, which can only be regretted. However, it is good that hasn’t been completely lost. This is evidenced by the arrival of a representative delegation of foreign students to our lyceum,” said the director of the lyceum, Svetlana Elchaninova.
