On November 19, another training on entrepreneurship took place at Voronezh State University. Students from different faculties of VSU took part in a business training within the framework of the Platforms of University Technological Entrepreneurship federal project. The experts of the meeting were Alexander Saprykin, an expert, IT entrepreneur, and tracker of corporate accelerators (Sberbank, Beeline, X5 Retail Group, etc.) and Ekaterina Taraskova, moderator, curriculum developer, and a professional development and career management consultant.
The participants learnt about the basic principles and tools for creating a technology startup, methods for developing the IP strategy of the project, and methods for assessing the investment attractiveness of a project.
“The training really helped us. It allowed us to learn not only about teamwork, but also to demonstrate our leadership qualities. We considered technology for tailoring outerwear, which will not spoil the female silhouette. I liked giving a talk to other teams and experts, defending my business idea,” said Ekaterina Mezentseva, a third year student from the VSU Faculty of Romance and Germanic Philology, a member of the winning team "Maximum".
Over two months, almost a thousand students took part in the training. They gained knowledge about technology entrepreneurships, organised their teams and formed a smart business launch plan, diagnosed their competencies and capabilities, studied the needs of their customers, and developed a value proposition. In addition, during the game, the teams worked out the business model for their startup and presented it to "investors", raising funds for development.
“At the training, we provide basic knowledge and offer students to delve into a completely new environment. We help to understand what entrepreneurial activity is, and to draw conclusions to what extent they are predisposed to it. According to statistics, no more than 15-20% of those who started their own business continue to be engaged in business, since a certain personality type is required to be successful in entrepreneurship. At the same time, a startup doesn’t require that all team members have to be entrepreneurs, they can successfully perform various roles and functions. It is important to understand that in business, as in creativity, those who simply cannot live otherwise, achieve success. This is a great opportunity to realise your needs, to make possible what your soul is drawn towards,” says Ekaterina Taraskova.
On November 26, the training on technological entrepreneurship will be held at the address: Voronezh, Universitetskaya pl. 1, main building of Voronezh State University, in the canteen. Starting at 10:00, registration opens at 9:00.
Registration on the project’s Trainings of Entrepreneurial Competences platform is required in order to participate.
