The international JINR Expertise for Member States and Partner Countries training (JEMS 21) was held from 7 to 11 November. The event was implemented by the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research in Dubna. Representatives of Russian educational institutions and research organisations took part in the training. Voronezh State University was represented by Larisa Titova, Associate Professor, Head of the Department of Nuclear Physics.
According to the hosts of the event, Russian universities and research organisations have a great interest in the JEMS format. This year, representatives from Arkhangelsk, Moscow, Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Rostov-on-Don, Tomsk, Tula, Vladivostok, Voronezh, and Yakutsk came to Dubna.
“During the training, we got acquainted with the research and educational potential of JINR and considered the possibilities for cooperation,” noted Larisa Titova.
The programme included the topics: “Heavy Ion Physics and Accelerator Technologies”, “Neutron and Nanoworld Research”, “Theory, Information, Education”, “Science and Earth Life Sciences”, and “Neutrino”. The participants of the event visited the laboratories and facilities of the Institute and attended lectures by JINR leading specialists. The highlight of the programme was the second meeting of the directors of the current and future JINR Information centres. It was attended by directors and representatives of organisations located in Russia and other JINR member countries, namely Bulgaria, Armenia, and Egypt.
