On 11 December, the qualifying round of the 22nd International Festival “Let’s Join Hands” was held in the concert hall of Voronezh State University (Kholzunova, 40a). The qualifying round was attended by international students from Voronezh universities who performed in the genres of national song and dance.
The annual festival is organised by the Department of Culture of the Voronezh Municipal Government and the International Education Institute of VSU.
There were 16 countries represented at the festival: Angola, Belarus, Brazil, Burundi, Congo, Ecuador, Guinea-Bissau, Indonesia, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Nicaragua, Republic of Chad, Rwanda, Turkmenistan, and Vietnam.
This year, the festival has finally returned to its traditional offline format. There are still fewer participants than before, but the organisers hope to gradually return to the pre-Covid numbers.
“The motto of the festival is ‘For international consent. Against racism and violence’. Promoting national cultures, introducing young people to the art of different peoples creates a respectful attitude towards representatives of other nationalities in modern society,” said Natalia Vella, Deputy Director for Extracurricular Activities at the International Education Institute of VSU.
