The book “100 years at the Faculty of Law of VSU: deep-rooted traditions, attraction, gravitas, and recognition” has been published. The publication is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the faculty.
This anniversary edition is devoted to the history and development of the Faculty of Law. It also provides detailed information about its current achievements, goals, and plans. The book tells about those who were among the founders of the faculty, those who it is proud of, and those who continue the traditions of the Voronezh law school today.
“What are we dreaming about today? Of course, about many things that have been on our minds but have not yet been implemented for various reasons. For example, I dream that, when entering the building of the Faculty of Law at our university, its graduates, students, and lecturers will see beautifully decorated, bright, cosy classrooms which will be named after our outstanding teachers: Professor Ivan Galagan, Professor Oleg Baev, Professor Lev Kokorev, Professor Victor Osnovin, Professor Valentin Panyushkin (it is impossible to put an end to this list of names). In these classrooms one would find their books or books dedicated to these outstanding scientists! If we want to keep the memory of the faculty's history, it is important not only to provide information about our teachers, but rather to integrate it into the modern educational process and to make it accessible for students. Our dreams are about new DSc dissertations written by scientists from the Faculty of Law and recognised by the scientific community; about our colleagues involved in expert communities and scientific and methodological councils of different levels and directions; and about truly gifted lawyers who will join the academic staff of our faculty; and, of course, about the enhanced influence of the faculty through its talented graduates on the legal practice both in the Central Black Earth Region and all over Russia! I am sure that these thoughts and feelings are fully shared by my colleagues!” Yuri Starilov, Dean of the Faculty of Law, who was the chief editor of the publication, wrote in the foreword.
