Associate Professor from the Faculty of Philology speaks at a Russian-Uzbek event at the Troepolsky library

On 14 February, an event dedicated to Russian-Uzbek friendship was held in Model Library No. 32 named after G.N. Troepolsky. Vladimir Gusakov, Associate Professor at the Faculty of Philology of VSU, made a presentation entitled “The Role of Alisher Navoi in the Development of New Eastern Literature”. The creative meeting was supported by the National Chamber under the aegis of the governor of the Voronezh Region.

The inter-ethnic festival “Guide Me to the Path of Good” was dedicated to the culture and traditions of the peoples of Uzbekistan. Their special features were conveyed through music, poems, and public speeches, which were presented at the meeting. There were poems by poets and public leaders of the country, Alisher Navoi and Zahir ud-Din Muhammad Babur.

Vladimir Gusakov, Associate Professor of the Department of Russian Literature of XX–XXI Centuries, Theory of Literature, and Humanities, told about the creative work of one of the classics. The representative of VSU is a follower of Associate Professor Polina Borozdina, an acknowledged specialist in the history of the literatures of the peoples of the USSR. Vladimir Gusakov has been teaching the course “Literatures of the peoples of Russia” at the Faculty of Philology at VSU for many years.

Guests of the event got acquainted with traditional dances and national costumes. They also tasted national cuisine at the Bibliocafé. The cultural agenda included performances by Kirill Afonin, an artist from the Voronezh State Opera and Ballet Theatre, and the dance group “Nadezhda”.

The importance of the intercultural event was noted by Aleksandr Timashov, personal assistant of the Governor of the Voronezh Region, secretary of the National Chamber under the aegis of the governor of the Voronezh Region, Zhahongir Nematov, an employee of the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Aleksandr Anisimov, Head of the Voronezh Regional Branch of the All-Russian Uzbek Congress, and Vladimir Ivanov, head of the Voronezh House of Friendship association, assistant of the chair of the board of the Assembly of the Peoples of Russia.
