On 11 February, Aleksandr Numerov, Professor at the Department of Zoology and Parasitology, attended the All-Russian Research Conference “Bird Conservation in Russia: Problems and Prospects”, which was dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Russian Bird Conservation Union. The event was held at the Russian State Agrarian University - Moscow Timiryazev Agricultural Academy.
Professor Aleksandr Numerov was awarded a diploma for his significant contribution to bird conservation in Russia and for serving the Russian Bird Conservation Union. He also received a diploma in the name of Leonid Semago (1928-2008), a well-known naturalist writer, teacher, honorary resident of Voronezh. Leonid Semago worked as associate professor at the Department of Vertebrate Zoology (now the Department of Zoology and Parasitology) of Voronezh State University for many years.
The conference was attended by 70 ornithologists and bird fanciers from all over Russia. There was also an online stream for those who was unable to attend the event in person.
