On 14 March, the Institute of International Education of Voronezh State University held the annual competition among female students. The goal of the competition is to realise the intellectual, creative, and personal potential of students from all around the world, as well as to build a favourable socio-cultural atmosphere among young people.
The competition organised by the Leisure and Culture Centre and administration of the Institute of International Education of Voronezh State University was attended by female students from Iran, Morocco, Turkmenistan, Mexico, and Vietnam. The jury included the head of the Registration and Visa Service, the director of the educational television studio, the deputy director of the Institute of International Education, and the winner of the competition “Mr. Institute of International Education 2023”.
The contest consisted of five events. The participants showed different aspects of their talents. The performances were very diverse: folk dances and a passionate Mexican dance, singing in Russian and Arabic, sports battles with a hoop, poems about love, which could be understood without translation. Also, the programme of the event included a performance by the dance ensemble “Nadezhda”.
The results of the competition were as follows:
- “Miss Intelligence”: Houda Amara from Morocco
- “Miss Charisma”: Trejo Molina Frida Yamile from Mexico
- “Miss Fascination”: Elnara Atajanova from Turkmenistan
- “Miss Charm”: Shahrzad Ghorbanifard from Iran
The main prize of the contest “Miss Institute of International Education 2023” was awarded to Doan Hai Yen, a student from Vietnam.
“When you work with international students, you need to properly organise both the educational process and the leisure of the students. This helps them to easily adapt to a new social environment. When an international student takes part in various types of events, they can show their talents, develop creative skills, and find their place in the world”, said Natalia Vella, Deputy Director for Extra-Curricular Activities of the Institute of International Education.
