On 20 March, an interuniversity stage of the Championship of the Association of Student Sports Clubs of Russia was concluded at Voronezh State University. Over 800 students from Voronezh State University took part in the event.
The Association of Student Sports Clubs of Russia is engaged in the development of student sports clubs in educational organisations of higher and secondary vocational education.
Between 27 February and 20 March, students from Voronezh State University competed against each other in various disciplines: men's and women's football, handball, 3x3 basketball, table tennis, badminton, chess, volleyball, cybersport, and other games.
The goal of the interuniversity stage of the competition was to popularise sports among students. The winners of the championship will have the opportunity to compete in the final stage in Saransk.
“There are no losers here”, with this phrase Oleg Grishaev, Vice-Rector for Student Affairs and Social Development of Voronezh State University, began his congratulatory speech.
According to the results of the competition, the winning teams were awarded with medals and cups, as well as memorable prizes from the sponsors. In addition, the best players in all disciplines received additional awards.
