The heads of universities from 15 regions of the Central Federal District of Russia on March 16 took part in the regular meeting of the Association of Higher Education Institutions of Central Russia, which was held on the basis of Bunin Yelets State University (Lipetsk region). The meeting was chaired by VSU Rector, Professor Dmitry Endovitsky.
Questions about the work of universities in the Year of Teachers and Mentors and the work of universities in training personnel for enterprises of the military-industrial complex were considered.
The participants of the meeting were presented with the experience of Voronezh State University and the Council of Rectors of the Voronezh Region, Bunin Yelets State University, Semionov-Tien-Shan Lipetsk State Pedagogical University, Tula University, Derzhavin Tambov State University, Smolensk State University, and Tver State Technological University.
In the decisions taken on both issues, measures for the Ministry of Higher Education to cooperate in solving the problems facing higher education at the present stage were outlined.
The election of the chairman of the Association was held due to the expiry of the five-year term. Professor Dmitry Endovitsky was unanimously elected Chairman of the Association of Higher Education Institutions. Professor of the Lipetsk State Technical University Anatoly Pogodaev and Rector of the Bryansk State Engineering and Technological University, Valery Egorushkin were elected as Vice-Chairmen. Associate Professor of Voronezh State University Vladimir Listengarten was approved as the Academic Secretary.
The meeting was attended by Vice-Governor of the Lipetsk Region Anatoly Yakutin, and the acting head of the Department of Education and Science of the Lipetsk Region Inessa Shuikova, the mayor of Yelets Yevgeny Borovskikh, member of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of Russian Federation, Professor Olga Pilipenko.
