On 18 April, the Museum and Exhibition Centre of VSU opened a photo exhibition by a Czech journalist and photographer Roman Blashko. The exhibition also displays graphic works by a Voronezh painter, Vladimir Goncharov. The “Chinese Dragon” exhibition illustrates the authors’ travels in China.
The opening ceremony was held by Alexandra Stepynina, Head of the University History Museum, and Angelika Makarova, the main guardian. The co-organisers of the exhibition were staff members of the Faculty of Romance and Germanic Philology. The presentation was attended by students and the authors themselves, as well as a special guest Dmitry Zhukalin, Head of the Department of Innovations.
Dmitry Zhukalin stressed the cultural value of the exhibition. He said that the graphics and photographs can help the audience to immerse themselves into the unique Chinese culture. The exhibition shows bright everyday life moments and makes you really feel those moments.
Roman Blashko said that it was his third visit to VSU. He has come to love the university and now it feels like home for him. This is why he was glad to present his works for the students of the university. The exhibition displays 16 photographs.
“I travelled from Beijing to the North-East and to the South. In each province I saw different economic, social, and cultural systems. I believe that China is a country everyone should get to know”, said Roman Blashko.
Vladimir Goncharov, Deputy Head of the regional division of the Union of Russian Artists, also talked about the way Chine had inspired him. He was a teacher at a local university for three years. In his spare time, Vladimir Goncharov made sketches of the everyday life in China. Overall he completed about 80 works, 4 of which are displayed at the exhibition. The other exhibits include Chinese fairy lights he brought from China.
The exhibition is open till May at the Museum and Exhibition Centre of VSU (main building, 2nd floor).
