Between 3 and 14 April, third year students from the Faculty of Geography, Geoecology, and Tourism of VSU took part in the federal project “Full-Scale Cleaning”. The event was aimed at eliminating environmentally hazardous facilities in Russia.
The “Full-Scale Cleaning” involved a number of specialised events held by the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources, including monitoring sources of accumulated environmental damage and assessing their impact on the population and its health.
Invited by Rosprirodnadzor, Artem Tatarintsev, Arina Ulybina, and Anastasia Kuznetsova, students from the Faculty of Geography, Geoecology, and Tourism worked in laboratories and surveyed and assessed facilities that cause environmental damage. The events were held as part of the course “Environmental Geochemistry” supervised by Associate Professor Natalia Kaverina.
The results of the conducted survey and assessment will be used to eliminate environmentally hazardous facilities in the Voronezh Region.
