The Free-Wrestling Championship of Russia among juniors under 21 was held in Yakutsk (Republic of Yakutia) between 13 and 17 April. Among the participants of the event were about 400 wrestlers from 40 regions of Russia, including Anton Pushechkin, a second year student from the Faculty of Mathematics of Voronezh State University.
Anton Pushechkin competed in the 97 kg weight category and took third place and a bronze medal. This victory allowed him to join the national team and to take part in the European Championship. Anton Pushechkin confirmed his title as a Master of Sport of Russia in wrestling.
He was coached by Alexander Belanov, Head of the Department of Physical Education and Sports and Master of Sports of the USSR.
