“At Career Day it was interesting to see which companies are currently recruiting students. Such events usually provide a lot of new opportunities, contacts, and good mood. I came here hoping that I can find myself in the jobs offered and maybe get a job. It would be really cool to earn money and use my knowledge while I’m still at university,” said Diana Rosnovskaya, a student from the Faculty of Philosophy and Psychology.
Online recruitment company HeadHunter and digital agency Red Collar were the main partners of the Career Day. They held the greatest number of meetings with students in various forms. The partners are planning to continue their close cooperation with the university, for example, HeadHunter has already prepared a list of new consultations for VSU students. Software company Fittin, Dodo Pizza, and recruitment company TOT TON were among key co-organisers and sponsors of the event.
“Over the past two years the Career Centre has managed to develop its own brand, and not only within the university but outside. We promote our students at the regional market and at the same time we help our partners. Through meetings, career consultations, and targeted staff selection we cooperate with companies and find employees for relevant job offers,” said Ekaterina Mikhailuk, Head of the VSU Career Development and Business Partnership Centre.
As a result of Career Day, VSU partners noted that students were really interested in the offered events. At specific consultations the participants asked questions, learnt about internships, and left their contact information. Employers have never received so many applications from VSU students before.
Most VSU faculties also highly appreciate career events. They engage students in these activities: the greatest number of visit requests was received from the Faculty of Chemistry, the Faculty of Geography, the Faculty of Law, and the Faculty of Philosophy and Psychology. The students from the Faculty of Computer Sciences, the Faculty of Physics, and the Faculty of Applied Mathematics, Informatics, and Mechanics were the most active attendants of the workshops. Volunteers and interns from Voronezh State Technical University and Voronezh State University helped to organise the event.
