On 16 May, a delegation from the University of Monastir (Tunisia) visited VSU to discuss partnership between the two universities.
“I love Tunisia. I’ve been to Tunisia myself, and now I’m glad to welcome our colleagues from the leading university in Tunisia”, said VSU rector Dmitry Endovitsky.
He also introduced members of the VSU delegation: Elena Chupandina, First Vice-Rector and Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Dmitry Kostin, VSU Vice-Rector for Research, Innovations, and Digitising, Maria Burlutskaya, Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics, Tatiana Popova, Dean of the Faculty of Biomedical Sciences, Alla Akulshina, Head of Department of International Cooperation, and Elena Alexeyeva, Head of the Department of French Philology of the Faculty at Romance and Germanic Philology. Elena Alexeyeva was also translating from French into Russian during the meeting.
“We have six students from Tunisia studying at VSU. We hope that thanks to our partnership VSU will see more students from Tunisia”, said Dmitry Endovitsky.
Bel Hadj Salah Hedi, rector if the University of Monastir, thanked his colleagues for the invitation to visit VSU and for the opportunity to speak French during the meeting.
“It’s a surprise that we can speak French here without any problems. I’m really grateful for this. We speak French better than any other language”, said Bel Hadj Salah Hedi.
He also introduced members of his delegation: vice rectors Professor Zrig Ahmed and Professor Bouguezzi Adel, director of the Higher Institute of Applied Languages Professor Borghool Mohamed Saad, and press secretary Sami Mansour.
The rectors talked about the history of their universities and further plans. Representatives of both parties are to discuss the prospects of scientific and academic partnership during visits to the faculties of VSU.
