On 19 May, VSU held an open lecture on “Programming in animation”. The lecture was one of the first events in the programme of the international animation festival “MultPraktika” held in Voronezh between 19 and 21 May.
Head of the R&D department of the animation studio “Voronezh” Alexander Kalyuzhny together with his colleagues tried to answer the key question during the lecture: “What makes programming an essential part of modern 3D animation?”. The lecture was attended by students from Voronezh State University, primarily students from the Faculty of Computer Sciences and the Faculty of Applied Mathematics, Informatics, and Mechanics, who were the target audience of the lecture.
The lecture covered various aspects of the animation process from the point of view of programming: the work of 3D artists, 3D animation software, programming languages in the work of animators, etc.
The animation studio “Voronezh” specialises on animated movies and series. The studio has worked on the Snow Queen, Wolves and Sheep, Hansel, Gretel, and the Agency of Magic, and other movies.
