Yuri Perin, head of the VSU Swimming School, lecturer at the Faculty of Physics, took part in the Russian Masters Swimming Championship. The competition was held in Obninsk.
Yuri Perin became a two-time champion of Russia in 100-metre backstroke and 100-metre freestyle. He also achieved the master of sport qualification standard of Russian Masters Federation for the first time in both distances at once. During the Championship of Russia, Yuri Perin became a five-time champion of Russia and set a Russian record in the 200-metre freestyle.
In addition, he was a technical delegate of the federation at the championship: he was responsible for monitoring compliance with the rules and regulations, as well as preparing documents for the registration of Russian, European, and world records.
Yuri Perin was also elected a member of the Presidium of the Russian Masters Swimming Federation for another four-year term at the election conference held during the competition.
