On 8 June, VSU students visited the Landysh children’s recreation camp. Children from the Belgorod Region are now spending time in the recreation camp in the Semiluksky Region. The students made friends with the children, brought them sweet treats, played board games and organised fun races.
The meeting with the children was organised by the Youth Department headed by Ekaterina Tsebekova and the Joint Students’ Board of the Voronezh State University. Representatives of different faculties of the university took part in the meeting. VSU students prepared and presented an evening entertainment programme for children from Shebekino, who spent more than a week in the Landysh camp.
At the beginning of the meeting, girls and boys a sweet snack presented by Blinchik, partner of the VSU Joint Students’ Board. Sweet treats helped the children to gather energy for the activities and made them smile.
At the next stage, the children were divided into different age groups. Creative and athletic contests were held for those aged 7–12. Employees of Hobby Games brought some board games and played with teenagers.
During fun races, children competed in tug of war, team drawings, and speed exercises. They soon got really interested and made up names for their teams and chanted throughout all the contests. In a couple of hours, the children made friends with the student, and at the end of the competition they took photos together with the volunteers.
This trip to the Landysh children’s recreation camp was the first for VSU activists. The Youth Department of VSU is planning to organise the next summer trips to the camp with concerts and new activities for the children. The university’s initiative was supported by Gennady Shvyrkov, Head of the Semiluki District Administration.
