Alexander Sokolov, a master’s degree graduate from the Faculty of Physics of VSU, Nikita Polyakov, a graduate from Kazan Federal University, and Andrey Chebotarev, a second-year master’s degree student from the Faculty of Physics of VSU, created a no-code game engine, a simple development tool for making games. The idea of the project is that anyone can create their own game without any programming skills.

In 2022, the students created the first in the world visual novella game with native advertising of the university. It is a comic-style video game where the hero has several alternative actions to choose from.

“We gained a lot of experience when working on this project. And then we thought, what if a person wanted to create a game but did not know how to program and did not have any design skills. And after that we asked ourselves the main question: why invent games for others when they can create them on their own! We just need to help them with this,” said Andrey Chebotarev.

The project uses a game development engine with a minimum entry threshold: the user does not need to know any programming languages. The creators’ plans include creating graphic novels, time-killers, and platform games. At the moment, there is a demo version for creating a graphic novel.

Creating games without code can help train new employees in workplaces: employers just need to open the application, create the necessary training in game form, and ask the employee complete it.

“Imagine that everybody could make their own games and share them! That could make people a little bit happier,” said Alexander Sokolov.
