On 30 June, a round table discussion was held at the Faculty of International Relations of VSU. Alexey Gromyko, Director of the Institute of Europe of the Russian Academy of Sciences, took part in the event. During a meeting with bachelor’s degree students from the Faculty of International Relations, Alexey Gromyko discussed the crisis of the security policy of the European Union. He explained that Russian-European relations in the field of security will have to be built almost from scratch.
Also, Alexey Gromyko answered students’ questions. The participants discussed the prospects of the European Union and the main conflicts between Russia and the EU. Some of the questions concerned the political situation in Germany, the transformation of its political party system, and the assessment of the work of Olaf Scholz as the chancellor of Germany. Professor Gromyko’s speech was met with applause.
“Such annual master classes enhance expert and analytical competencies of the students from the Faculty of International Relations. Such events provide the opportunity for students to hear expert opinions and to practice their professional skills,” said Veronika Morozova, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of International Relations.
