On 15 July, the closing ceremony of the Youth forum “Molgorod” was held. The forum included a grant contest held by Rosmolodezh. The winners of the grant contest were Vitaliya Yurovskaya, a fourth year student from the Faculty of Economics, and a team from the Faculty of Mathematics including bachelor’s and master’s degree students Maria Kokotkina (head of the project), Vadim Matytsin (the project coordinator), Maria Grineva, Tatiana Zhukovskaya, Andrey Pozdnyakov, and Yulia Bozhko. Alexander Bolgov, a student from the Faculty of History, had won 340 thousand roubles at the forum earlier.
The team from the Faculty of Mathematics presented their project for the Regional scientific forum “Mathematician as a profession”, an event organised for schoolchildren from forms 9–11 who are keen on mathematics and information technologies. The aim of the forum is to show schoolchildren the interesting side of mathematics and help them understand how they can achieve professional success in the field. The forum is to be held in spring 2024.
Vitaliya Yurovskaya won 170 thousand roubles for her project “A school for the training of VSU’s student teams”. The project involves intensive training courses in the field.
“When I was a first year student, I started to participate actively in university life and became an activist of the Faculty of Economics. We prepared performances for Students’ Spring or First Year Students’ festivals. I also joined the student pedagogical team Kraski, where I was trained as a guide and then became a permanent team member. For this grant I submitted my project “A school for the training of VSU’s student teams”, which is a platform for lectures and training courses. The participants of the school will stay at a recreation facility for two days and take part in various intensive courses for the heads of VSU student teams. The date and the place of the event is still a secret, but I can assure you the event will be amazing”, said Vitaliya Yurovskaya.
