The 2023 admission campaign has some special features. They include applicants from new territories of Russia, such as Kherson and Zaporozhye Regions, Lugansk and Donetsk People’s Republics, as well as from the Belgorod Region. All in all, 1,183 applications were received from these regions.
Students from 67 regions of the Russian Federation have been enrolled at VSU, and applications were submitted from all 89 regions. The largest was the percentage of students from the Voronezh Region: more than 2 thousand enrolled, as well as 350 students from the Lipetsk Region, 267 from the Belgorod Region, and 84 from the Tambov Region. Also, there were 30 students from Moscow and the Moscow Region. In total, the university received more than 11 thousand applications.
The majority of applicants (50%) submitted their admission applications using the special service of the Gosuslugi portal. Another 25% did it using VSU services, and 25% more visited the university personally. The most popular fields of study according to the number of applications were “Jurisprudence” (Faculty of Law), “Linguistics” (Faculty of Romance and Germanic Philology) – 355, and “Information Systems and Technologies” (Faculty of Computer Sciences).
“We have met admission quotas and set completely different threshold admission scores. For example, for “Geology”, the lowest admission score was 154 (for 3 exams) for 77 state-funded places. “Jurisprudence” had 32 state-funded places, and the lowest admission score was 272.
The average state exam score for state-funded places was 73.1. The average state exam score for both state-funded places and fee-paying students was 69.4. I believe that Voronezh State University has demonstrated the good quality of the admission campaign.
There were no serious violations on the part of other universities of our region. I’m really glad that we’ve learnt to conduct the admission campaign peacefully in a region with so many universities,” said VSU Rector Dmitry Endovitsky.
