Anastasia Velichkova, a second year master’s degree student at the Faculty of Physics of VSU, was granted a scholarship “Investment in the future” by the Association of Financial Market Participants “Nonprofit Partnership for the Development of the RTS Financial Market”. The total amount of the scholarship is 120 thousand roubles.
Anastasia is involved in the applied studies of ultra-short impulse signals of subnanosecond duration for radar and communications systems.
“In my studies, I focus on the ways to improve the pulse parameters in order to increase the resolution of radar systems and the data transfer rate in communications systems. To solve these problems, I use the equipment provided by the Department of Electronics, an Agilent DCA-X 8600D oscilloscope, a Rigol DP832A power supply, and a Keysight PNA-X N5242B vector network analyser”, said the student.
Anastasia’s research advisor is Professor Grigory Uskov, Head of the Department of Electronics of VSU. The award ceremony is to be held in Moscow on 26 September.
The objective of the “Investment in the future” scholarship programme is to encourage young people to study, coordinate their academic and scientific activities with regard to the needs of the country, and involve them in the development of a new modern economy.
