Natalia Zhurbina, Associate Professor at the Department of Regional Studies and International Economies of the Faculty of International Relations of VSU, became a laureate of the second national competition of study guides “Doctor Nobilis”. The competition was organised by the Direct-Media publishing house together with the University Library Online electronic library system and the Interdeparmental Centre for Supercomputing of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
The contestants were leading teachers and scientists from universities all over the country, including representatives of Orenburg State Pedagogical University, Donetsk National University, the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation, the Pacific National University, the Herzen State Pedagogical University of Russia, the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration under the President of the Russian Federation, Moscow State Institute of International Relations, Pushkin Leningrad State University, Academy of Labor and Social Relations, Plekhanov Russian University of Economics, Mordovian State Pedagogical University named after M.E. Evseviev, etc.
Natalia Zhurbina took part in the competition with the first part of the study guide “Academic and business writing” dedicated to the specifics of academic writing, the main rules of text formatting, the types of secondary texts and the specifics of their writing, the specifics of research works by students, the main stages and norms of writing course papers, graduate qualification papers, and essays adopted at the Department of Regional Studies and International Economies of the Faculty of International Relations.
The total number of contestants presenting their study guides was 250.
The “Doctor Nobilis” competition is held by the University Library Online electronic library system. The submitted study guides underwent assessment by the expert system of the Interdeparmental Centre for Supercomputing of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

The study guide was published specifically for the “International regional studies” programme. It can be used by students of other programmes who want to learn more about academic and scientific texts.
