On 19 September, Vladimir Tulupov, Dean of the VSU Faculty of Journalism, was awarded the Yasen Zasursky Prize in the Winter Palace of Sochi. The award ceremony was conducted as part of the world’s largest journalistic forum “All Russia – 2023”. The Secretariat of the Union of Journalists of Russia named Vladimir Tulupov the best dean among the faculties of journalism in Russia. Tulupov received his award from Vladimir Soloviev, Head of the Union of Journalists.

“It often happens that when receiving a personal award, the leader says that it is not only their achievement but of the entire team. I guess in some cases it is a kind of a ritual, but in my case my words of gratitude addressed to the VSU Faculty of Journalism are absolutely sincere. In my work, I relied on the traditions established by the founders of the department which later became the Faculty of Journalism: Boris Krivenko, Georgy Antyukhin, Gorislav Kolosov, Lev Kroychik, and other colleagues that I respect greatly. The Faculty of Journalism of VSU is a brand for which students, graduates, employees, and lecturers have worked and continue to work. I want to thank all of them. Engraved on the prize that I’ve received are the words of Yasen Zasursky, “For me, the most important reward is to teach students.” I completely agree with our guru. And surely, I’m especially grateful to the Union of Journalists of Russia. I’ve been a member of it for over forty years and I really appreciate the opinions of this community,” said Vladimir Tulupov.

Professor Yasen Zasursky, DSc in Philology, Honoured Journalist of the Russian Federation, was the Dean of the Faculty of Journalism of Moscow State University from 1965 to 2007 and the President of the Faculty of Journalism from 2007 to 2021.
