On October 3, the first meeting of the Coordination Council of research and production organisations of the Voronezh Region for the development of radio- and microelectronics took place in the White Hall of the main building of Voronezh State University. Dmitry Endovitsky, Rector of Voronezh State University, made a speech at the opening of the meeting:
“The Coordination Council will become a permanent body of representatives of public authorities, employees of universities, research organisations, and the expert community in the field of radio- and microelectronics.”
The agenda of the meeting included discussing several key issues. The first of them was to approve the Regulations of the Coordination Council and appoint the Chair of the Council. During the discussion, Dmitry Endovitsky, Rector of VSU, was elected the Chair of the Coordination Council.
The second important issue was the preparation for the foresight forum “Voronezh Radio- and Microelectronics in the National Research and Production Complex” to be held on November 15, 2023. The main building of VSU was chosen as the venue for the forum. The university rector Dmitry Endovitsky guaranteed that the university would provide sufficient facilities to organise the event and provide the forum with proper equipment.
The Coordinating Council also discussed the participation of Voronezh State University in the competition for state support grants for the development of advanced engineering technologies. Dmitry Endovitsky put forward the issue of establishing an Advanced Engineering School at Voronezh State University:
“An Advanced Engineering School is a structural subdivision of the university that carries out educational and research activities in partnership with engineering companies. The key task of the Advanced Engineering School is to provide the necessary conditions for training specialists to develop innovative engineering solutions. The grant for the establishment of the Advanced Engineering School will be up to 1 billion roubles. The proposed name of the school is “Russian Electronics, Radio Communications, and Info-Communications Technologies”. Among the main goals of the Advanced Engineering School are to achieve technological sovereignty of the Russian Federation, systematic work on training of highly qualified specialists in radio-electronics, and scientific developments meeting the global standards.
The school will be founded in partnership with AO NIIET, as VSU already has a strong strategic relationship with it. The members of the Coordination Council supported the initiative of VSU participation in the grant competition for developing the Advanced Engineering School.
In addition, the members of the Coordination Council of Research and Production Organisations of the Voronezh Region for the development of radio- and microelectronics considered a number of organisational issues and made decisions on them.
