On October 5, the 7th International Research and Practice Conference “Recreation and Tourism in the Regions of Russia” was held in the auditorium named after Professor L.T. Gilyarovskaya of Voronezh State University.

Dmitry Kostin, VSU Vice-Rector for Research, Innovations, and Digitising, took part in the opening ceremony:
“Taking into account the current geopolitical situation, the subject of the conference, which has already become traditional for our university, is becoming more and more relevant. Today it is necessary to promote tourism in the regions of our native country by introducing advanced developments in this field.”
Semyon Kurolap, Dean of the Faculty of Geography, Geoecology, and Tourism at VSU, welcomed the guests and participants of the conference:
“At VSU, we understand that the development of domestic tourism is in line with the interests of the development strategy of the tourism industry, which is closely linked to the economy and social sphere. The conference is supposed to give an impetus to research not only in this area, but also in related fields.
The plenary meeting included presentations on tools for promoting tourism potential, the impact of the tourism industry on the country’s economy and labour potential, the revival of local history and “Russian studies”, and a number of other issues. The participants also discussed the issues of educating the young generation through travelling and tourism.”
