The Russian House in Baku, the capital of the Republic of Azerbaijan, hosted the “Educational Exhibition of Russian universities 2023” on 29–30 September. It was attended by 22 universities from different regions of Russia.
Voronezh State University was represented by Alla Akulshina, Head of International Relations Office, Zhanna Gracheva, Dean of the Faculty of Philology, and Olga Boriskina, Dean of the Faculty of Romance and Germanic Philology.
During the exhibition Zhanna Gracheva and Olga Boriskina presented Voronezh State University to the audience and held meetings with high school and college students. During the round table “Inter-university interaction, innovative technologies in the educational environment. Exchange of experience”, Alla Akulshina discussed a bilateral cooperation agreement between Voronezh State University and the Azerbaijan University of Languages. At the moment, a draft agreement and programmes of joint activities are being coordinated at the Azerbaijanian university. The VSU delegation held talks with representatives of Baku State University and the Russian House in Baku on the joint organisation of a major cultural event dedicated to the 225th anniversary of Aleksandr Pushkin’s birth.
At the meeting with Ilgar Dadashev, Head of the International Department of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, representatives of VSU discussed the prospects for Russian universities to participate in the programmes of advanced training and retraining of teachers of Russian language and literature at the universities and schools of Azerbaijan.
The VSU delegation also met with local graduates of VSU, who today have important positions in state bodies of the republic. They still have a warm and grateful feeling for the university. They expressed profound interest in the development of co-operation between Azerbaijanian universities and VSU.
This event was very fruitful for Voronezh State University. It opened up many prospects for cooperation with the leading educational centres of Azerbaijan.
