On October 5, representatives of the Zernyshko volunteer club of the Faculty of Geology organised a trip to the Novaya Usman Children’s Social Rehabilitation Centre in Babyakovo. The trip was timed to coincide with the Do Something Nice day.
12 students came to the centre on a university bus, held contests and brought gifts for the children, but most importantly, they gave joy and hugs.
“This trip was important both for us and for the children, for whom we became a spark of warmth on that chilly day. The opportunity to see the happy faces of the children, their emotions and sincere efforts to win the competitions was our greatest reward. I would like to thank those who made the children happy together with me. I am especially grateful to the organiser of the trip Maria Khovanskaya, Associate Professor of the Department of Ecological Geology of VSU,” commented Ekaterina Belaya, a first year student.
