Members of the VSU patriotic club “Vysota 155” and cybersport branch of the students’ sports club “Khitschnye Bobry”, as well as a student of the Economics Faculty of VSU took part in the contest “Student of the Year”. It is a federal educational project of the Russian Union of Youth. The aim of the project is to identify and support students of educational organisations in Russia who have special achievements in professional activities, creative work, sports, youth policy, student leadership, social activities, and volunteering.
This year the Student of the Year award has its anniversary, a decade since its creation. The competition was organised by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation, the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs, and the All-Russian Public Organisation “Russian Union of Youth”.
In order to pass the competition, it was required to make a video clip. More than 20 people from the cybersports branch of the students’ sports club “Khitschnye Bobry” took part in the shooting. All of them are members of cybersports teams, many of whom successfully competed in the Moscow Student Cybersports League. The cybersports branch of the students’ sports club “Khitschnye Bobry” was represented by Yulia Polyakova, Danila Sidorenko, and Timur Krutskikh, students of the Faculty of Applied Mathematics, Informatics, and Mechanics. The organisational support was provided by Andrey Sizykh, a student of the Faculty of Law, Anastasia Telnykh, a student of the Faculty of Mathematics, Sergey Chechenev, a postgraduate student of the Faculty of Biomedical Sciences, and Egor Chuvakin, a student of the Faculty of Journalism.
“I have great impressions of the victory! It makes you realise that our great efforts have borne fruit. Last year we also won at the regional stage and made it to the finals in Moscow. We took the 4th place there, just two points short of getting to the Top 3. This year we intend to go there with a larger team and more prepared, we have a very strong desire to win,” said Timur Krutskikh.
Members of the VSU patriotic club “Vysota 155” made a video about interesting and exciting activities of their student organisation. The club was represented by Margarita Stepanova and Alevtina Popova, students of the Faculty of Biomedical Sciences, and Tatiana Solodovnikova, a student of the Faculty of Philosophy and Psychology. The video was filmed and edited by Ivan Buryka, a student of the Faculty of Applied Mathematics, Informatics, and Mechanics.
“We got a lot of positive emotions when shooting the video, and the bad shots only lifted our mood. So, the video turned out to be light, cheerful, and interesting. The students were determined to win, as they had worked hard all year and had a lot to say. The girls performed wonderfully, and I, in turn, did the backstage work, including video editing and sound engineering. We hope that our dear club “Vysota 155” will win the All-Russian stage. We believe in our victory!” said Ivan Buryka.
According to the results of the contest, “Khitschnye Bobry” became the winners at the regional remote stage in the nomination “Cybersports Club of the Year”. “Vysota 155”, in turn, won in the nomination “Patriotic Association of the Year”. Elizaveta Zotova, a student of the Faculty of Economics of VSU, won in the “Intellect of the Year” nomination:
“I have been engaged in scientific activity since the second year of study: I study the problems of the regions, write articles on sociology and economics, and I present my studies at conferences. I am glad that my work was highly appreciated by experts at the regional level! But this is only the first stage. I am very keen to represent the Voronezh Region at the All-Russian stage of the competition!
