On 30 October 2023, the list of finalists of the All-Russian competition “Student of the Year. IT” was published. This event belongs to a special open competitive and educational track of the Russian National Award “Student of the Year”. Its aim is to support students from educational institutions of the Russian Federation who have accomplished special achievements in the field of mathematics and computer science, information security, fundamental and applied informatics, business informatics, and design.
This year, the contest celebrated its 10th anniversary. Among the finalists were 100 participants, including nine students from the Faculty of Computer Sciences of Voronezh State University. Among the finalists in the nomination “Programmer” were third year students: Konstantin Lugovskoy, Egor Rogachev, Dmitry Skarga, and Daniil Shulzhenko, and a second year master’s degree student, Yulia Shishko. The finalists in the nomination “Information Security Specialist” were third year students: Mikhail Leonov, Ekaterina Lobova, Pavel Putin, and Elena Sheina. The tenth finalist from Voronezh was Leonid Chesnikov, a student from Voronezh State University of Engineering Technologies.
According to the regulations on the competition, the finalists were selected based on the results of a case and/or test task performed in a remote format. What is more, the finalists also had to have some achievements and victories in professional competitions and/or ongoing projects corresponding to the nominations of the competition. Another condition was the participation or achievements in professionally oriented IT events, the availability of publications/speeches aimed at popularising and promoting the IT sphere. The finals of the contest “Student of the Year. IT” will be held between 15 and 19 November in Moscow.
