Between 3 and 6 November, Dmitry Vakhrameev and Varvara Kirichenkova, students from the Faculty of Psychology of Voronezh State University, and Olga Ryazantseva and Bogdan Linchenko, students from the Faculty of Law, visited Moscow to be awarded for their participation in the Olympiad-expedition “Moscow, the capital of multinational Russia”. The Olympiad was held on 19 October 2023 at Voronezh State University with the support of the Centre for the Promotion of Education “Ethnosphere” and Moscow Pedagogical State University. The following VSU students were among the winners of the event: Dmitry Vakhrameev (1st place), Olga Ryazantseva (2nd place), Bogdan Linchenko (3rd place), and Varvara Kirichenkova (4th place).
According to Dmitry Vakhrameev, the three day trip of Voronezh students to the capital was full of fascinating excursions, in particular, to the house-museum of Mikhail Bulgakov. The students also visited the newest stations of the Moscow metro. Professor Anna Shevtsova from Moscow Pedagogical State University invited the students to take part in the contest “Region Branding”, during which the winners of the Olympiad from different cities of Russia invented brands for randomly selected cities and regions of the country. By drawing lots, Voronezh students had to invent a brand for Krasnoyarsk.
The award ceremony was held in Moscow City, on the 43rd floor of one of the business centres. Vitaly Suchkov, the Head of the Department of National Policy and Interregional Relations of Moscow, awarded students with diplomas of laureates and winners of the Olympiad “Moscow, the capital of multinational Russia” and souvenir bags and sweatshirts.
“This trip was very emotional and memorable, it provided us with a tonne of useful information. Everything was awesome: from the excellent organisation of the event to meeting highly qualified academic staff of Moscow State Pedagogical University,” said Dmitry Vakhrameev.
