On 14 November, a concert dedicated to the 105th anniversary of the university was held in the auditorium of the main building of VSU. In his address, VSU Rector Dmitry Endovitsky spoke about the long-standing history and great achievements of Voronezh State University. In particular, the rector noted the enormous contribution of our university to culture and science of both the Voronezh Region and the country as a whole.
“The University continues to actively develop. It receives a lot of support from regional and federal authorities. Our city has always been the centre of many political and economic processes. We have a difficult but distinguished past, a beautiful present, and a successful and bright future. My congratulations to you!”
The Governor of the Voronezh Region, Alexander Gusev, visited the university to congratulate its employees on the anniversary:
“VSU is undoubtedly the pride of the Voronezh Region. It is a university of international scale. The importance of Voronezh State University in the sphere of education can be confirmed by the fact that it has students not only from Russia, but also from different parts of the world. VSU is the alma mater for many great scientists who made great discoveries that affected the development of our country. Researchers who are known all over the world continue working here. VSU can be characterised by the following phrase: “Higher education of the highest quality.”
The head of the region emphasised that VSU and the Government of the Voronezh Region are engaged in active cooperation in matters related to the development of the infrastructure and improving the scientific level of the university. Alexander Gusev expressed confidence in strengthening Voronezh State University as an educational institution of higher education. To express his gratitude, the head of the region presented the staff of Voronezh State University with an Honorary Certificate of the Government of the Voronezh Region.
The Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation expressed its gratitude to the staff of VSU “For a significant contribution to the development of education, its dedicated work, and in connection with the 105th foundation anniversary”. Voronezh Regional Duma awarded the staff of VSU with a diploma “For many years of fruitful scientific and pedagogical work, high professionalism, and great contribution to the training of highly qualified specialists”. The Joint Institute for Nuclear Research congratulated the staff of Voronezh State University on the anniversary and wished them every success in training specialists.
Sergey Frolov, the Head of the Voronezh regional office of Sberbank, was also present at the event. He noted that VSU has become a source of the most advanced expertise and employees for the bank. According to the Head of the Voronezh regional office of Sberbank, the graduates of VSU are distinguished by a high level of knowledge, the ability to work in a team, to take responsibility, and to achieve high results.
As part of the celebration of the 105th anniversary of Voronezh State University, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation awarded several employees of Voronezh State University with an award pin “Veteran”. This honorary title was awarded to the following employees: Larisa Ivanova, leading specialist at the Department of Research Support, and Elena Trufanova, PhD in Biology, Associate Professor at the Department of Zoology and Parasitology of the Faculty of Biomedical Sciences.
The following representatives of VSU were awarded with the Certificate of Honorary Title “Veteran of Voronezh State University”: Boris Berenstein, leading engineer at the Department of Electronics of the Faculty of Physics, Ivan Korogodin, DSc in Economics, Consulting Professor at the Department of Economics, Marketing, and Commerce, and Sergey Borisov, a retiree, who had worked as the Head of the second department of VSU for 27 years.
The certificate of the Honorary Title “Honorary Worker of Voronezh State University” was awarded to Anatoly Lylov, PhD in Economics, Associate Professor at the Department of International Economics and International Business of the Faculty of International Relations.
The official part of the event was concluded with the performance by the Fermata choir.
