Between 7 and 11 November, the All-Russian Forum of Students’ Sports Clubs was held in Moscow. This was an important large-scale event dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the Association of Students’ Sports Clubs of Russia. Within the framework of the forum, representatives of VSU received an award for their merits in the sports life of the university. The event concluded the results of the past season and brought together the finalists of the ASSC.pro and the Best SSC contests, the Executive Board of ASSC, regional coordinators, and chairs of regional branches and students’ sports clubs.
Rector of VSU Dmitry Endovitsky was awarded with a jubilee medal “10th anniversary of ASSC of Russia” for his contribution to the development of students’ sports. Igor Kotok, specialist at the Department of Student Affairs, also received the award. Gratitude for a significant contribution to the development of university sports was also expressed to Irina Ryabykh, the Chair of the VSU SSC “Khitschnye Bobry” (Rapacious Beavers).
“Khitschnye Bobry” represented the club of Voronezh State University in the #ASSCPRO competition in several areas. Irina Ryabykh was awarded in the nomination “The Best Organiser of Students’ Sports Events”, Daria Volchik, a student from the Faculty of Geography, Geoecology, and Tourism, was awarded in the nomination “The Best Media Manager of the Students’ Community”, and Polina Labutina, a student from the Faculty of Applied Mathematics, Informatics, and Mechanics, was awarded in the nomination “The Best Manager of Students’ Sports Teams and Clubs”. Anton Kotok, a student from the Faculty of Applied Mathematics, Informatics, and Mechanics, took 2nd place in the nomination “The Heart of a Mascot”.
Polina Gritsay, the captain of the women's basketball team, Igor Kotok, specialist at the Department of Student Affairs, and Denis Kvasov, Deputy Chair for Marketing, took part in a business programme held at the Forum. Denis Kvasov also participated in an All Star basketball match.
“This year, the forum gathered the largest number of participants. These 4 days were really busy, we visited the competition, business, and leisure programmes of the forum. I was one of the finalists of our club in the ASSC.pro competition in the nomination “The best organiser of students’ sports projects”. I failed to become a winner but this encourages me to develop further. But our mascot (club mascot) took the 2nd place in the nomination “The Heart of a Mascot”, which makes me really happy. As usual, we have very ambitious plans for the new season. The ASSC Championship is ahead, and we are expecting as many participants as possible. There will be other large-scale events. Our goal is to get into the top five clubs, and we are rapidly moving towards this goal!” said Irina Ryabykh, Chair of the VSU SSC “Khitschnye Bobry”.
