On November 15–18, the results of the special open stage “Student of the Year. IT” were summed up. The stage brought together 100 best IT students from all over the country to compete in 3 nominations. The whole stage had only one Grand Prix winner: Yulia Shishko, a second year master’s degree student from Voronezh State University.
The project is implemented by the Russian Youth Union and Samara State University of Economics as part of the Rosmolodezh Grants competition. It was also supported by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Samara Region.
“The event was very intense, informative, but not easy. The preparation was extremely thorough: 7 years of my experience as a programmer contributed to this victory. To put it simply, I repeated the theory, and worked on self-presentation. When they announced that I had won the Grand Prix, I didn’t believe it at first, but then my heart almost jumped out of my chest, I wanted to jump and cheer! It is difficult predict future prospects, but at least I’ve made some useful acquaintances both among the participants and experts,” commented Yulia Shishko.
