In 2023, the Faculty of History celebrated the 75th anniversary of archaeological research at VSU. A set of meetings of the archaeological club, which is traditionally held in the archaeological museum of Voronezh State University, was dedicated to this milestone.
On October 2, at the first meeting, Aleksandr Medvedev, Head of the Department of Archaeology and Ancient History, gave a review lecture on the history of archaeology at VSU from 1948 to the present day. On October 16, there was a meeting with the classic of Voronezh archaeology, Professor Anatoly Vinnikov, where he shared his recollections about his expeditions in 1960s and 1970s.
On November 20, Elena Zakharova, Professor of the Department of Archaeology and Ancient History, acquainted the audience with the history of Bronze Age research. In addition, she spoke about the rich heritage of Anatoly Pryakhin, Honoured Scientist of the Russian Federation.
