Between 13 and 25 November 2023, Elina Shishkina, Professor at the Department of Mathematical and Applied Analysis at the Faculty of Applied Mathematics, Informatics, and Mechanics, went on a business trip to Uzbekistan at the invitation of Fergana State University.
She had a business meeting with well-known researchers: Akhmadzhon Urinov, professor at the Institute of Mathematics of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shakhobiddin Karimov, Head of the Department of Mathematics of Fergana State University, and Associate Professor Anora Yusupova. Elina Shishkina told the colleagues about the latest advances in “Differential equations with fractional powers of the Bessel operator”. She also gave lectures on the equations of mathematical physics for students and young scientists from Fergana State University, which the audience found of great interest.
Elina Shishkina also participated in an international scientific conference “Current issues in differential equations and their applications” in Tashkent, which was dedicated to the 90th anniversary of Mahmud Salakhitdinov, a member of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
An important result of the visit was a partnership agreement between VSU and Fergana State University. A study guide “Equations of mathematical physics” in Russian for students from Uzbekistan is to be published.
