VSU athletes take second place at the National Basketball Tournament

The Basketball Cup of Rosatom State Corporation was held in Moscow between 6 and 9 December. The VSU 3x3 basketball team took second place at the Super Final of the National Orange Atom Tournament. Winners of the previous five rounds also participated in the competition.

Nikita Yanishevsky, a student from the Faculty of Applied Mathematics, Informatics, and Mechanics, was among the winners in the MVP teams nomination while Leonid Yudin, a student from the Faculty of Law, and Mikhail Pchelnikov, a student from Faculty of Philosophy and Psychology, were among the winners in the nomination Best Player of the Tournament. Nikolay Dobrosotskikh, a student from the Faculty of Computer Sciences, was the captain of the team.

The team’s coach is Maria Yanishevskaya, a senior teacher of the Department of Physical Education and Sports. Under the tactful guidance of the captain and the coach the team’s actions were well-coordinated and delivered good results.
