On 14 September, the results of the Russian National Award “Student of the Year” were announced. Representatives of VSU took prize-winning places in individual nominations. The cybersports branch of the students’ sports club “Khitschnye Bobry” (Rapacious Beavers) won in the nomination “Cybersports Club of the Year”. Elizaveta Zotova, a student from the Faculty of Economics of VSU, won in the “Intellect of the Year” nomination. Our students were the only winners from the Voronezh Region.
“We’ve been training for the whole year, we’ve put together a strong team, and Dmitry Obolonsky and Danila Sidorenko from the SSC “Rapacious Beavers” made a great contribution to its development.” Dmitry held a workshop on streaming sound design and sound editing while Danila designed the presentations of the projects and our club. Yulia Polyakova, deputy head of Rapacious Beavers, also helped a lot. There were many stages of the competition: we held a workshop, performed a design task, presented our cybersports club, and did a test on “Teachers and Mentors of Russia”. The emotions are incredible. We understand that all of this was not in vain, and now we have analysed the results of other clubs and are ready to win again!” said Timur Krutskikh, the head and founder of Rapacious Beavers.
