VSU students who participated in the Your Move National Student Competition of the presidential platform “Russia is a land of possibilities” won 1,000,000 roubles each as part of the “Doing” competition track. They received consultative support from the Department of Youth Policy of the Voronezh Region and the Regional Youth Centre.

The final of the third season of the Your Move National Student Competition took place at the Exhibition of Achievements of National Economy between 12 and 14 December. The participants of the “Doing” competition track passed several stages to achieve their victory. The expert assessment of the project summaries was performed in summer. The authors of the best projects presented the results of their work to the experts at regional stages of the competition. As a result of the track, 200 projects were selected, and their leaders received an award worth 1,000,000 roubles to fulfil their dreams.

Dmitry Antonov, a student of Voronezh State University and a participant of the “Human – Human” category, created VSU InvestClub, a student project aimed at creating university communities for those interested in investments and finance. The goal of the project was to organise student investment clubs, where young people can learn more about finances by playing an investment board game. During the game, they find out how stock markets work, learn about stocks and bonds, study futures and brokers as well as taxes and business operations. The game teaches students how to manage their funds wisely, understand investments, and run their own business. Dmitry also organises university meetings, conferences, and educational lectures, where financial experts and qualified investors answer students’ questions. Every week VSU InvestClub holds game nights at the university bringing together 6 to 12 people. The main principles of the club are improvement in a friendly atmosphere and with an interesting game.

The project is also on social networks, where the team shares educational content, publishes weekly stock market analytics, talks about its operating principles, and how politics affects the economic growth of the country.

“The efforts and energy that I’ve put in this project are my main investments. During Your Move I made lots of useful acquaintances and obtained new skills which are already helping me with my studies and work. I want to thank the people who created this project for giving me a chance to be here, enjoying my victory and seeing the emotions of the others,” said Dmitry Antonov.

Elizaveta Guber, a student of VSU and a participant of the “Human – Nature” category, organised a historical and environmental expedition “Your Voronezh” to unite people who care about the ecology and history of their home region. As part of the project, students conduct guided tours around the city, combined with the collection and sorting of waste that is sent for recycling. During the tour, the organisers tell people about their strategies and solutions of environmental issues. This is a unique opportunity for having an interesting pastime and also taking part in useful social activities. The tours help the students to find like-minded people who also want to study the history of the region and protect the nature of the Voronezh region. Each expedition participant receives a certificate, a letter of gratitude, and an opportunity to become the environmental project ambassadors.

“I love my native land, and this helped me win the Your Move project. I think it is very important to promote the protection of nature and history of Voronezh. This way we can keep in touch with our home region and learn to care about the world around us. I came to the Your Move project with just one idea, and now I have a whole project ready that will be useful to society and will make the world a better place. Thank you for providing relevant knowledge and believing in me!” shared Elizaveta Guber.
