On 1 February, one of the exhibitions of the conceptual project AzArt + Avant-garde 0.8 opened in the White Hall of the main building of VSU. The event was opened by Angelika Makarova, Head of the Museum and Exhibition Centre of VSU. The participants were welcomed by VSU Rector Dmitry Endovitsky and Dmitry Zhukalin, Head of the Department of Innovations.

“I am grateful to our participants and artists. Each painting presented at the exhibition means something. I studied them both closely and from a distance and I was impressed by the incredible talent of the artists. All works are full of spring colours, and this energy is passed on to the viewer. I’m sure lecturers and students of our university will enjoy this exhibition,” said Dmitry Endovitsky.

Vladimir Goncharov, Deputy Head of the regional division of the Union of Russian Artists, also gave a speech. The exhibition presented paintings by artists from the artistic association AzArt: Irina Bobrova, Natalia Gorshneva, Olga Elchaninova, Alevtina Ryzhkova, and Natalia Khodeeva. There were also painting by those artists who are not members of the association, such as Olga Ivannikova, Victor Tsiryanidi, and Olga Anokhina.

The artistic association AzArt unites various like-minded artists with a similar view of life and is known not only in Voronezh. The members of the association constantly improve their educational level and continue learning, always keeping their brushes and paints at hand.

“Mostly important, what we do gives us the opportunity to broaden the horizons of our lives, to learn something new and interesting. We are all absolutely different, we have different styles and different approaches to painting, but we are still together because we are interested in being with each other, interested in working together. We always offer advice, show each other our works, and move forward,” said Natalia Gorshneva.
