In 2023, 31 contestants from 7 universities of the Voronezh Region took part in the Innovation Cup On 8 December, the competition jury determined the winners and the best innovative university of 2023. Three VSU employees were among the winners.
Dmitry Zhukalin, Head of the Department of Innovations, Associate Professor of the Department of Semiconductor Physics and Microelectronics of the Faculty of Physics, took first place with the project “Streamer nanoperforator”. Maria Lavlinskaya, senior researcher at the Department of Biophysics and Biotechnology of the Faculty of Biomedical Sciences, won with the project “Development of drugs based on ficin and modified polysaccharides for the treatment of septic and chronic wounds.” Elmara Akberova, PhD in Chemistry, also became a winner with the project “Development and introduction of highly efficient ion-exchange membranes for the demineralisation of natural and waste waters into production”.
The winners of the annual competition of innovative projects between universities were awarded the Governor’s diplomas by Oleg Mosolov, Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Voronezh Region.
“A whole team of experts from VSU was working on the “Streamer nanoperforator”, and we are glad that the competition jury highly praised the significance of this project. The technology is already being introduced into various production areas,” said Dmitry Zhukalin about the winner project.
The Innovation Cup has been held since 2011, and its goal is to encourage innovative activity of the universities in the Voronezh Region and develop innovative projects that can be commercialised and implemented by the region’s enterprises.
