An exhibition called “Under the Same Sun” by artists Natalia Voronkova and Galina Solovyova dedicated to 8th March opened in the main building of Voronezh State University. Paintings made with oil paints and dry pastels were presented to the viewers at Voronezh University. The paintings have various themes. The Rector’s Gallery is filled with landscapes, flowers, and still-life paintings. There is a lot of sun, warmth, and light in their works.
“Spring has come, and it brought wonderful paintings full of light energy that illuminate our building!” said VSU Rector Dmitry Endovitsky.
Natalia Voronkova and Galina Solovyova graduated from the Voronezh Art School. They became friends during their studies. And for many years they have been inspiring each other’s creations. Amazing intersections can be found in their works. The world in Natalia and Galina’s paintings is clear and familiar to all of us. The artists’ have different styles and manners of painting, but they are united by their great love for art. Natalia and Galina created “under the same sun.”
“My favourite material is pastel. My works made with pastel show the places that are close to my soul. I am grateful to Voronezh State University for the opportunity to bring my art to the people!” said Natalia Voronkova.
“The atmosphere at the exhibition's opening is so warm. I’m glad to see young people interacting with the art. People are created in such a way that they cannot live without coming into contact with live art that inspires them. It means a lot that the exhibition has opened at the university that brings together so many young people. I would like to thank the organisers of the exhibition!” said Galina Solovyova.
Members of the AzArt art group were also present at the exhibition. They were delighted by the works of their colleagues.
Natalia Voronkova was born in Nizhnekamsk and later moved to Voronezh. She’s been practising art since childhood. In 1993, she graduated with honours from the Voronezh Art School, and in 1999 from the Faculty of Art and Graphics of the Kursk State Pedagogical University. She worked as a designer in the field of printing. As for graphic arts, in her works she prefers oil, graphic techniques, pastel, watercolour, and ink. Since 2020, she has been a member of the National Union of Pastel Painters of Russia and participated in exhibitions organised by the union.
Galina Solovyova graduated from art school and Voronezh Art College, and then from Kursk State Pedagogical University. She worked as a teacher and has experience in decorating and printing. She was the head of a group of designers and also worked as an artist-designer, developing outdoor advertising. Since 2014, Galina has been the lead designer at the design studio of a large company in Moscow.
