A regional figital club “Khitschnye Bobry” has been opened at Voronezh State University. The head of the club is Timur Krutskikh, a second year master’s student from the Faculty of Applied Mathematics, Informatics, and Mechanics.
Figital sport is a type of sports and entertainment that combines exercising and interacting with a virtual environment.
“When creating the esports club “Khitschnye Bobry”, I was inspired by the Danish club “North”. It was organised within FC Copenhagen football club. It offered various joint events where football players played together with esports players. I believed that this helped challenge the stereotype that e-sportsmen are, as a rule, not very athletic,” said Timur Krutskikh.
Within the cyberclub, the athletes began to hold joint events, in particular, with the basketball players from the VSU student sport club “Khitschnye Bobry” in order to boost corporate spirit. The activists studied the theoretical part well. Yulia Polyakova, Deputy Head of the Cyber Club, gave open lessons on figital sports and Ilya Goglov, a FIFA player and a champion of the Open Cup of the Voronezh Region, took part in organising figital football competitions.
Afterwards, the sport continued to develop actively. This gave way to the Federation of Figital Sports of the Voronezh Region. Later, the “Games of the Future” were held in Kazan. It was the first international figital multi-sport tournament with a total prize fund of 10 million roubles. The President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin acknowledged the importance of developing figital sports in our country. He also emphasised that modern human must be developed harmoniously: both physically and intellectually, which is the main idea of figital sports.
“Having estimated the scope of work, we decided to create the first figital club in our region, the purpose of which is to promote figital sports and a healthy lifestyle, as well as to create a favourable environment for the formation of the strongest teams in this area. In the future, it is planned to hold a series of meet-ups dedicated to figital sports. They will help raise awareness of this sport among young people. It is also planned to organise a training platform”, said Timur Krutskikh.
